What Happens After My License Has Been Issued

You are now licensed for three (3) years

If a license has not been renewed for 5 years and over - The licensed electrician is said to be delinquent Eg. Some persons migrate and forget about their license until they decide to return tot he island or they have been employed in another field and do not require the license at the time etc.

What Do I Need for My License to be Renewed
  • A written request for reinstatement should be sent to the Board stating the reason for the delay in renewing the license
  • At the next Board meeting the electrician will be asked to attend where the matter will be discussed and a decision taken as to its reinstatement
  • After resinstatement the delinquent electrician holder is required to make payment of a delinquency fee of J$3,000 plus J$500 for each year that the license has not been renewed to the present

What happens if My License is Lost or Stolen?
  • The Licensed Electrician reports the matter to the nearest Police Station
  • The Licensed Holder is issued a police report
  • He takes this report to the Board's office
  • Along with 2 photographs,a receipt for J$1,500
  • He is then issued a replacement license. The same license number is retained

The Licensed Electrician will retain the same license number
